Cleaning and care of artificial leather

Due to their composition, the faux leather versions of our upholstery are significantly less sensitive to soiling than their natural counterparts.

Whether grease, water or juice stains - everything that is almost certain to ruin sensitive genuine leather can usually do little harm to easy-care artificial leathers such as the high-quality skai® artificial leather.

Nevertheless, we recommend cleaning or, if necessary, disinfecting artificial leather surfaces regularly, depending on how much they are used. How do you care for artificial leather properly?

For daily care, it is usually sufficient to wipe the artificial leather regularly with a damp cotton or microfibre cloth. It is also possible to use a mild soapy solution. In contrast to real leather, special "nourishing" care is not required to keep the artificial leather supple and beautiful in the long term.

Can artificial leather be disinfected?

Regular surface disinfection is essential, especially for artificial leather used in the medical sector and other hygienically sensitive applications. The special artificial leather variants, such as the skai® we use, are suitable for this purpose and do not lose their product properties even with regular disinfection.
